AppleCheeks Envelope Covers are part of an innovative and versatile cloth diaper system. These waterproof covers can be used as a diaper cover over an AppleCheeks Bamboo insert (or any flat or prefold) OR as a pocket diaper with a wide opening to allow you the option of placing an insert underneath the microfleece lining.
Applecheeks diapers fit a wide range of babies. They are available in 3 sizes, however thanks to their generous fit, most babies will require 2 sizes (Size 1 & Size 2) from birth to potty training. Size 3 is perfect for bigger kids.
The best thing about these diapers …NO NEED TO UNSTUFF….just dump the poop and throw the diaper, insert and all, in the diaper pail.
- When used as a diaper cover, only the insert needs to be changed if the cover isn’t soiled. This means one cover could last for several changes.
- The outer layer is made of breathable, waterproof polyurethane laminated polyester (PUL) and the inner layer is made of soft, stay-dry microfleece.
- Customizable absorbency…the pocket allows for additional inserts or boosters to increase absorbency for heavy wetters or nighttime diapering.
- Snug, durable elastic at both the waist and legs for a gentle and secure fit.
- Two rows of easy-to-adjust snaps, allowing for a proper fit at the legs and the waist.
- Generous and long lasting fit.
- Run a cold pre-rinse or small cold wash in the machine, or a rinse under cold water.
- Run the heavy-duty/full wash cycle with hot water (60°C) using a small amount of residue-free, scent-free, softener-free, glycerin-free detergent.
- If you use a top loader, use 1/4 cup of detergent or less. If you use a front loader, use a maximum of 1/8 cup of detergent.
- Rinse diapers again in warm or cold water.
- Diapers and inserts should be hung to dry when possible. This uses less energy and also extends the life of your diapers.
- Diaper covers can also be machine-dried on low.
- Inserts can be dried on hot.
- If you hang inserts to dry, they dry a little stiff. This does not affect the absorbency, however, a few minutes in the dryer will soften them up again.
- Don’t hang your covers over a radiator or any other dry heat source as this will prematurely dry out your elastics and shorten the life of your covers.
- Avoid contact with all bleaches and fabric softeners in any form.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight (covers only).
- Never use a fabric softener of any sort on your diapers as this will cause your diapers to repel all liquids and decrease absorption capacity.
- Avoid using dryer sheets in your laundry in general.
- To store your covers between babies, vacuum pack in a dark, climate-controlled environment, away from any heat source.
- AppleCheeks covers can be washed with AppleCheeks inserts and your other cloth diapers.
- All diapering products should be pre-washed at least once prior to use.
- Bamboo and hemp inserts should be washed three times on hot and dried once on hot to ensure optimal absorbency.

Storage Between Washes:
- Soiled diapers should be stored in a water-proof, odour-proof storage bag between uses.
- Solid messes should be dumped in the toilet prior to placing soiled diaper in the storage bag.
- Breast-fed baby poo does not need to be removed prior to washing since it is water-soluble.
